my intrepid, brave explorers are sleeping out in a tent in the backyard tonight. Such excitement and a tinge of fear was in the air as they dragged half their wordly goods out to the tent, after I intervened they had to drag most of it back in again.
I am fairly confident they won't be needing 45 stuffed toys and 3 pairs of shoes out there.
I was so sure they would have high tailed it back inside by now that I left the back door open and all the lights on... it is after midnight and no sign of them.... Now I get to listen for rain all night while worrying that they are cold.
When I peeked in last they were snuggled up together like bugs in a rug Isaac snoring softly with his arm around Keely, I mean Ruby... awww so cute... if the tent were bigger than the average picnic blanket I would sneak in there with them!

Changing names
well it has been said on here before that my children have absorbed my name obsession, today was further proof.
Keely announced that she wanted to change her name because "Keely is a stupid name" and that "I am tired of spelling it to people" oops poor kid is traumatised apparently.
I told her that she can change her name if she wants too, all that is needed is her dad and I to agree and fill out a form. She thought about that for a minute then said that she just wanted to change her first name and keep the middle and last name. (I actually have been thinking about changing her middle name but that is another post) I asked her what name she would like instead and she wasn't sure, I told her that I wanted to name her Ruby, after her great grandmother) but her dad said no. She thought she might like to be known as Ruby from now on because her friend has a big sister named Ruby and "she is cool". Very generously she said that if daddy doesn't like he will be allowed to still call her Keely! Isaac wasn't to be out done and announced that he didn't like when his friends called him Isaac and he wanted them to call him Zac from now on! He told me that he wants to "sign the contract" as soon as possible!
Laura tells me her name is pretty common, Blair says she misses out on sales because people think her name is Clare and don't attribute the sale to the right person and Marni thinks her name is weird...
Maybe I should give up naming children and stick to naming pets, Tabitha and Tux seem to like their names just fine.

It's off the list! (well almost)
I get to cross something off the list!!!
I was looking online today for things to do when we take the kids to Queensland in June when I saw an ad for hot air ballooning, I clicked on it and read that they are coming to my Tasmania for a 8 week stint and would be a 90 minute drive from my house!!! How freaky that I even found that page today...a few weeks more and they would have been and gone.
OMG! I have wanted to go in a hot air balloon since I can remember and have only ever even seen 1 from a distance once... I almost hyperventilated I was so excited...
Theye is nowhere here to do it so I figured it was something I would dream about for years to come...
and the best part?? I get to go just 2 days before my birthday and Pete is giving me the ride as a present!
YEAHHHHHHHHHH!

More on the name thing
I was watching Tv tonight and a woman was talking about her 5 children, she mentioned their names, Dakota, Indiana, Montana and Phoenix and nothing, she never said the 5th childs name!!! UGH Totally unfair! I am desperate to know if he is named after a state or a city or if his name is John or something totally weird like that!
You know I won't sleep tonight for worrying!

Names again
Tonight I rendomly wondered about people who have a theme to their childrens names, I was on a blog where the children are all named after places and I decided to rename my children with Disney Princess (and Prince ) middle names... why not?
I started with Laura Aurora and that made me laugh so much I decided to keep it!
I had no idea of what a Disney Prince would be called... aren't they all just called Charming or something? Luckily I remembered that Disney had the rights to the Narnia movies and I was saved! May I present to you their Royal Highnesses
Laura Aurora
Blair Anastasia
Marni Belle
Isaac Caspian (muuuummm I don't even like capsicum)
Keely Jasmine
Not bad and apart from the rhyming one I would actually use them if forced to do so!

Welcome baby Alex!
My gorgeous friends Kayleen and Greg welcomed their second child Alex Jordan on Wednesday night! She weighed in at a compact 7lbs and looks just like big brother Devlin with her shock of dark hair. I think Aunty Jacki is going to have to take a trip to Victoria very soon to have a squish of new baby cheeks... :)
Oooh how I love new babies!!

The weekend
is a relaxing, family time, to spend time together and have fun, right? Well yes but only if your husband hasn't worked every single day since Christmas (ok he had 1 day off)!
Add to that he fell at work and may have sprained/broken his wrist and things have been little tense around here!!
So instead of having yesterday off he worked, yes with an untreated injured wrist, wow was I mad, I had big plans for spending the day together doing fun stuff (travel expo, art exhibition and dinner out) and instead I spent the day cleaning house... I have to say a good head of steam can be produced and maintained when you are pretending the floor you are scrubbing is your spouses head! :)
So today he was supposed to work but he thought better of it, maybe it was my crabby mood, maybe it was the wrist or maybe it was the extreme shock of coming home to a spotless bedroom/bathroom/kitchen, I vote for the last one!
So it looks like today we will be at the ER for some hours, maybe we can go look at the exhibition on the way home.

My Bucket List
Despite my feelings about Jack Nicholson (ewwwwwww) I watched the Bucket List recently, I LOVED it what a wonderful movie, if you haven't seen it then "do yourself a favour" as Molly would say!
It is about 2 men with cancer who decide to do everything on their bucket list (things to do before you kick the bucket) before they die.
Years ago when children were plentiful and money was not, I made a wish book, it was just a photo album and I put pictures in it of things I would like to do/see/have one day. Thinking about it now most of them did eventually happen so they weren't as far fetched as I thought at the time. I remember I had an ad for the Phantom of the Opera stage show, a diamond ring, disneyland and a car that wasn't a station wagon! :) If I did an album now it would be so different but still full of dreams, we all need dreams and things to aspire too. As long as the wanting isn't out of control and the wishing isn't life consuming then add anything and everything you can I say!
Here is my bucket list in no particular order
(I just now thought this up and am not going to edit so it should be interesting!!)
Ride in a hot air balloon
Ride an elephant
Visit Canada
Visit Scotland
Be comfortable with my own body
Forgive my mother
Be a better mother
Be there when a baby is born
Spend more time with my father
Take a luxury train trip (hopefully in Canada!)
Figure out what I want to be when I grow up
Be the funniest, silliest old lady in the nursing home
Worry less about money and more about other people
Tell people how wonderful they are more often
Give compliments not critisism
So there you have it... phew some of those were suprising.... Why not write your own list you might be inspired who knows!
